CPP, INC., APPOINTS BROADTHINK FOUNDER CYNTHIA CLEVELAND AS BOARD MEMBER

Socially-minded CEO Emphasizes Digital Branding for Global Expansion

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., December 11, 2013 — CPP, Inc. (CPP.com), an industry leader in research, training, and organizational development tools including the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) assessment, announced today that it has appointed Cynthia Cleveland, CEO and Founder of BroadThink—a global media, marketing, and branding company—as a member of its Board of Directors. Cleveland officially joined CPP’s Board of Directors on December 10 and plans to apply her international business leadership and digital branding expertise to help the company further its worldwide growth.

“I believe in CPPs products and can attest to them personally, having been introduced to the company and the Myers-Briggs® instrument nearly 25 years ago when I was running my very first company,” said Cleveland. “I was very impressed with its insights. Later, when my children took the Strong Interest Inventory® tool in high school, I discovered how beneficial CPP’s assessments were on a personal level—so my appointment today is particularly meaningful.”

Helping to Increase Women’s Participation at the Corporate Level
Cleveland’s extensive experience includes her long-term membership in the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), the largest worldwide organization of CEOs. As recently elected chair of YPO’s Women’s Network (WIN), she is leading program development for executives to prepare for and attain board appointments, as well as mentoring young women through the Lean In initiative. Her passion for mentoring supports CPP’s mission of helping people make best use of their talents and accomplish their goals.

Citing research from the Catalyst Bottom Line report, Cleveland recognizes the potential for her appointment to impact CPP’s bottom line. The report states that companies with more women board directors experience higher financial performance in three key areas: return on equity, return on sales, and return on invested capital. With today’s appointment of Cleveland, CPP is ahead of the curve in terms of women’s representation, with a total of three female board members—the numerical tipping point for stronger-than-average performance.

Expanding the Benefits of CPP’s Assessments
“Cynthia Cleveland’s outstanding wealth of experience and leadership is invaluable, particularly when it comes to developing, translating, and monetizing intellectual property rights into major global consumer brands across diverse industries,” said Jeff Hayes, President and CEO, CPP, Inc. “Her accomplishments over the span of her career are impressive, and her presence on the board will have major impact as we further leverage the equity of the Myers-Briggs brand and continue to expand the benefits of CPP’s products across industries and international lines.”

Cleveland has previously served on boards for Imaginarium, Enkeboll Designs, Indiana University, RealLeaders Magazine, Children’s Nature Institute, and the Assistance League of Southern California. She is also CEO and Founder of BroadLit, a digital business that sells ebooks and original mobile games. Cleveland served as Worldwide President of Consumer Products and Games of Universal Studios, President of Imaginarium, President of TelaFlora, Vice President of Marketing for Mattel Toys, and Assistant Brand Manager of Carnation Foods.
