CPP, the Myers and Briggs Foundation & CAPT have been long-time partners in efforts to teach people about using type in ethical, productive and meaningful ways. CAPT actively seeks collaboration with educational and research institutions interested in studies that add to what is known about type – and when properly applied – creates a positive impact on people’s lives.
The Center for Applications of Psychological Type, CAPT, was founded in 1975 by Isabel Myers and Mary McCaulley, Ph.D., who was at the time a psychologist and faculty member at the University of Florida. CAPT’s nonprofit mission was fostered by these remarkable women’s desire to promote human understanding between people of all ages through psychological type.
Since 2010 CPP has partnered with CSO Research to provide streamlined access to best-in-class career assessments for university career services offices. Through our partnership with CSO Research, counselors administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® and the Strong Interest Inventory® assessments online via the CSO System. The CSO System also gives offices the option to charge students directly for these services, thereby freeing up their departmental budget. We are very excited to continue our work with CSO as shared customers consistently praise the results of this partnership.
CSO Research provides technology solutions to manage and streamline career services and experiential education processes for colleges and universities. CSO is a global leader in building next-generation career services automation, connecting students with employers through college career centers, and providing tools to measure employment and graduate school admissions outcomes.
CPP has been working with Peterson’s Publishing, Nelnet, and OnVal to develop a groundbreaking technology in the assessment industry that will combine data from the government, educational institutions and corporations with student data from CPP’s CPI 260® assessment. The end-result will be a set of personalized career futures that help the student identify, appraise and pursue viable pathways to a successful career.
This technology is still in the development phase, but you can learn more about these partners and the project by reading this press release about the showcase at the White House’s Datapalooza.
