CPP, Inc., Unveils New Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) Qualifications Program

Highly Interactive Program Places Greater Emphasis on Applications of MBTI Assessment and Reduces Pre-work Hours

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., March 12, 2008—CPP, Inc., an industry leader in research, training, and organizational development tools, today announced its new qualifications program for the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) assessment. The new MBTI® Qualifications Program, developed by type experts David Freeman, Linda Kirby, and Nancy Barger, teaches HR, training, and organizational development professionals how to professionally and ethically administer and interpret MBTI® Step I and Step II assessments and reports.  “The new qualification program is a highly interactive, four-day workshop on type theory emphasizing the key MBTI applications of team building, leadership, and individual development,” said Jeff Hayes, President and CEO, CPP, Inc. “It’s designed for busy professionals who want to leave the workshop ready to begin using this wonderful tool.”

The MBTI® Qualifications Program uses Adult Learning Theory to better facilitate learning and knowledge retention and to ensure participants are meeting program requirements. CPP will deliver its program exclusively through on-site workshops to its clients in the U.S. CPP Asia-Pacific launched the program in 2007 for in-house and public workshops, and the new program has been well received in that region.

“In response to direct requests from our customers, we developed a hands-on, practical approach that will more fully prepare them to present MBTI workshops,” said David Freeman, CEO, CPP-Asia Pacific. “At the same time, the program drastically reduces the stress involved in the qualification process.”

The new program:

  • Places greater emphasis on applications of the MBTI assessment
  • Covers online and paper-and-pencil forms of the assessment
  • Covers type dynamics, type development, and MBTI Step II
  • Reduces pre-work requirements of current programs from 30-40 hours to 10-12 hours
  • Breaks the required exam into small segments administered at the end of each learning module rather than a single exam at the end of the program

Upon successful completion of the workshop, participants receive an MBTI Step I Qualification Certificate and an MBTI Step II Certificate of Completion, which enables them to purchase and use all the MBTI Step I and Step II assessments and reports.

About the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® assessment

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) instrument is a scientifically validated tool useful for better understanding individual personality differences and uncovering new ways to work and interact with others. It is the world’s most trusted and widely used personality assessment. Working with an MBTI Qualified professional, individuals take a multiple-choice questionnaire designed to help explain their preferences over four personality dimensions: Extravert-Introvert, Sensing-Intuitive, Thinking-Feeling, and Judging-Perceiving. In addition to learning their own type, individuals are exposed to type theory and how various types perceive and interact with the world at large. The tool reaches across the globe in 21 languages to help improve individual and team performance, nurture and retain top talent, develop leadership at every level of an organization, reduce workplace conflict, explore the world of work, and create an atmosphere of understanding and better communication.
