MBTI Assessment Bridges Gaps of Culture, Age, and Personality Differences

San Diego, Calif., June 2, 2008 - Nearly 30 years ago three letters - MTV - changed the way we saw music, and became for a time the common language for music fans around the world. In 2008, another acronym has emerged as the common mode of communication for the business community - the “MBTI” personality assessment. As the economy globalizes, people are searching for ways to bridge the gaps left by such factors as culture, age, and personality differences. With two exciting new training programs from CPP, Inc., the exclusive publisher of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®)brand, the MBTI assessment has emerged as a universal bridge to those gaps, and MBTI Qualification as the “must-have” credential for every HR professional.

“Today’s HR professionals deal with more diversity than ever before, including four generations in the workplace and cultures from around the globe,” said Jeff Hayes, President and CEO, CPP. “Our new training programs, based on the MBTI assessment, make it easier than ever to use personality type to transform low to moderately performing groups into high performing cohesive teams.”

CPP’s recently released MBTI Qualifications Program teaches participants how to administer and interpret the MBTI assessment through a highly interactive, 4-day training program.  Participants receive instruction in type theory and MBTI applications, emphasizing team building, leadership, and individual development. The program uses Adult Learning Theory to better facilitate learning and knowledge retention and to ensure participants are meeting program requirements.

Additionally, CPP’s brand new MBTI® Team Performance Accelerator (TPA) provides a flexible, yet standardized framework for teambuilding grounded in tangible, measurable results. Based on the MBTI assessment which is supported by over 50 years of research and use, the program is built upon feedback from customers who needed to address significant challenges facing teams, including effectively managing conflict, leveraging the strengths of individual team members, and successfully navigating organizational change - a highly relevant topic in today’s economic climate.

No wonder ASTD and SHRM 2008 attendees are saying, “I Want My MBTI!” brand.

CPP will be providing information on both programs at the ASTD 2008 Conference in San Diego, CA and at the SHRM 2008 Conference in Chicago, IL this year. All are invited to visit the CPP booth (ASTD #1925 and SHRM #1431) and receive free:
