CPP, Inc., Adds Two New Members To Its Board Of Directors

Co-Presidents Patrick and Hayes to Join the Board

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Nov. 17 – CPP, Inc. (www.cpp.com), publisher of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) instrument and other major assessments, announces that Maria V. Patrick and Jeffrey A. Hayes have been appointed to its Board of Directors.

Co-presidents since March 2004, Patrick and Hayes have demonstrated extraordinary collaborative ability, effectively working in tandem, always with an eye on the bottom line. Promoted to fill the void created by the sudden passing of CEO David Krantz, they were able to successfully transition CPP management with zero negative impact to the business. Their skills, competencies, and experience with the product lines have helped them spearhead initiatives that have grown the business, particularly with regard to international expansion and Professional Services.

Board Chairman Carl E. Thoresen, Ph.D., says, “CPP has grown tremendously under Hayes and Patrick’s leadership. Collectively they have over 30 years’ experience at CPP, and both have demonstrated the excellent industry knowledge, breadth of company operations expertise, and leadership skills required of Board members. I am pleased that the Board has offered them this new opportunity, and look forward to continuing our work together to realize a sound and sustainable strategic vision for CPP.”

Maria Patrick, Co-President

Patrick joined CPP in June 1991 and brings nearly 20 years of business experience to her current role. She is responsible for product development and oversees CPP’s Publishing, Research, Human Resources, Legal, and Technology divisions. She also leads the company’s strategic planning process. Patrick has exhibited strong leadership skills in her years at CPP, including her strategic work on the Executive Management Team, in human resources and organization development, and in product development. She was instrumental in the negotiations for the Xicom and Strong Interest Inventory® acquisitions. Patrick is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), and Association of Psychological Type (APT).

Jeff Hayes, Co-President

Hayes joined CPP in October 1987 and brings over 20 years of experience to his current role. He oversees CPP’s Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Operations divisions. Throughout his tenure at CPP, Hayes has provided exemplary service and leadership. He has made many material contributions to the advancement of the company, including the development of the Washington, D.C., Scoring Center, which gave CPP a strategic East Coast presence. Hayes played a critical role in the Xicom and Strong Interest Inventory acquisitions, as well as in the conceptual work for launching CPP’s Technology Division.
